Press release: Frontbase joins forces with Viju within videoconferencing and audiovisual solutions
The videoconferencing specialists Frontbase Communications AS is joining forces with Viju AS and consolidating the companies’ range of videoconferencing and audiovisual solutions. In response to the growing demand for videoconferencing and integrated AV/video solutions, the companies realise that by pooling their competence and capacities they can offer better services to the market.
Viju and Frontbase have both experienced strong growth in 2007 and 2008, particularly from large customers with many locations in Norway and/or abroad. The companies realise that, through pooling their competence and capacities, they will be better placed to provide services to these customers and to the market in general. Viju increased its turnover from MNOK 80 million in 2006 to MNOK 284 million in 2008. In the same period, Frontbase increased its turnover from MNOK 4 million to MNOK 37 million. The companies have also increased their workforces during this period: Viju has grown from 28 to 90 employees, and Frontbase has grown from three to ten employees.
Frontbase will continue to operate under its own name for the remainder of the year, but will relocate to and become part of Viju’s operations in Oslo at the turn of the year. Together the companies aim to maintain strong growth throughout the country and in selected cities abroad.
Along with major developments in technology, the current focus on time and cost savings associated with travel activities and the increased volume of projects and management responsibilities across wider geographical areas are proving to be powerful growth drivers in the market. “The benefits are so obvious that it would be almost poor professional judgement not to consider solutions like these, says Viju’s Board Chairman Rune Jensen. “Considerations such as cost, the environment and, not least, the extra strain on employees due to extensive travel activities are just some of the factors which are important to customers," he continues.
“Simple and user-friendly solutions that work every time and that enable secure and effective collaboration across long distances mean that public and private enterprises can make individuals and groups accessible over long distances without having to move them around," says Henrik Johannesen, General Manager of Frontbase, “Large corporate customers are gradually beginning to demand that their partners and suppliers are also accessible via video and, in a longer-term perspective, we believe that it will be unusual in most public and private enterprises not to be able to see who you are talking to, whether it is from a desk, a conference room or larger rooms such as auditoriums, control rooms or large visualisation centres.”
